In the Aroma of His Presence , 2026  2 Corinthians 2:14–15 "But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing."   Paul draws on a powerful image of the triumphal procession every Roman citizen understood. When a Roman general won a decisive war, he paraded through the city with burning incense and strewn flowers, displaying his ultimate victory to the empire. While that fragrant parade meant joy and celebration for the Romans, it signalled imminent death for the captured prisoners.
